Dr Reshma Ramracheya will be presenting a poster titled “Mauritius, the new kid on the block for clinical research in type 2 diabetes in children” at the 3rd World Congress on Clinical Trials in Diabetes (WCTD2018), on 3-4 December 2018 in Vienna, Austria. The island of Mauritius is historically known as a famous tourist destination. However, it has not been spared from the grip of diabetes and for decades, it has figured among the top 10 countries with the highest incidence of the disease. Importantly, type 2 diabetes is no longer limited to adults as the epidemic is also emerging in children and adolescents. During this two-day platform, Reshma will be showcasing Mauritius as the rising star in clinical research in diabetes and related co-morbidities due to its unique multi-ethnic population, compelling disease profile and robust framework for clinical trials.
