Over 500 visitors over 2 days! It’s a record! In line with World Diabetes Day observed on 14 November and World Diabetes Awareness Month, CIDP has organised and executed two highly successful interactive events on 21st and 23rd November, to showcase the dangers of hidden sugar in common food items and practical tips on how to tackle the beast (diabetes). The public had the opportunity to do random blood glucose tests, evaluate their risk of developing diabetes and listen to experts in conversation. Children were invited to dress up as geeky scientists and participate in fun experiments, including guessing the amount of sugar in their favourite drinks and snacks and learning how sugar affects the body as well as the number of hula hoops needed to burn off calories.
